The Impact
How the proposed improvements could affect students, staff, and our communities
ACGC Public Schools is committed to prioritizing the needs of our students, staff, and communities responsibly. This comprehensive investment plan was developed with three key goals in mind: enhancing student opportunities, enriching community access, and addressing our deferred maintenance needs.

Enhancing Student Opportunities
The proposed improvements are designed to support a more flexible, inclusive, and responsive learning environment. Expanding our gym and fitness space would reduce scheduling conflicts and provide greater opportunities for students to participate in physical education and wellness programming during and after the school day. The space would allow for better occupational and physical therapy spaces, creating a more supportive environment for all learners.
Updated Career and Technical Education (CTE) spaces with new equipment and furnishings would help expose students to high-demand career fields through hands-on, practical learning experiences. Additionally, relocating the wrestling program from a separate facility into the school’s existing small gymnasium would improve accessibility and safety for student athletes.
Overall, these improvements are intended to better support student engagement and participation, which research has linked to stronger attendance, academic performance, and social development.

Enriching Community Access
The plan also includes features intended to make the spaces adaptable for community use, including recreation, adult education, and events. The proposed fitness space and walking track could be available for public use, allowing residents a place to stay active during winter months.
Flexible classrooms can host programs such as yoga classes, wellness workshops, or small group meetings, further increasing the building’s utility as a community resource. Additionally, the increased availability of space would help local youth organizations and recreation teams secure consistent and age-appropriate time slots for practices and games. These enhancements align with our role as a community-centered district, helping ensure our schools remain accessible and valuable to residents of all ages.

Addressing Our Deferred Maintenance Needs
The plan includes infrastructure upgrades aimed at maintaining the long-term viability of our facilities. By addressing deferred maintenance and our Long-Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) needs now, we can better preserve those dollars and limit our risk of being unable to address future repairs.
